  • Fetewei Tarekegn i understand the context of socialism in the idea of social democracy, a mix of capitalism for the enterpernour and the go getters as well as a welfare systom for the rest who may fall in crack ..

  • Giday Geberkidan but that need not be called socialism that can be achieved with out the gov’t interference. only if the gov’t can take care of illegal activities and make sure there is a level playing ground. today the gov’t is interfering in a welfare mixed socialist way and messing up even more. in fact that is all what it is abt, socialism is a tool for the few to control the many. socialism give a tool for few elites to control the masses…

  • Giday Geberkidan no no religion should concern itself with eternal matters give what is Cesar’s for Cesar. the only solution is CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLICANISM, with religious values not forgotten as religious truth is the foundation of life. other wise there will be no solution for this anarchy remember french, Spanish Russian even Ethiopian revolution they were all bloody. the solution lies in tying the power of govts by republican constitution not giving them more power with socialistic or democratic laws it will lead to anarchy of the strong.

  • Fetewei Tarekegn on this one i do agree with you!!! Having a constitution which explicitly shows where the power of government goes and basic tenets such as separation of church and state, checks and balances and the like!!!

  • Fetewei Tarekegn but what does that make the government that we have now??

  • Giday Geberkidan ya exactly u see we r on the same line when it is abt what it is we want. but by education and propaganda they twist everything and confuse us. u see socialism has been evil for many years and it is their favorite tool of deception. it is said that govt is a necessary evil and people need to check it’s power. on the other hand socialism considers people evil and tries to restrict their rights. but it sells itself by saying it’s peoples power. well it has been exposed both theoretically and practically we need only expose this farce to the rest…. the confusion continues because those with vested interests will not let the truth reach the people.

  • Giday Geberkidan ohoooo wel our govt is ofcource big time Marxist-Leninist that is why we need to work harder to expose that this is not good and help those who have prejudice towards the left see marxism leninism for what it is. but the are deeply in love with this ideology. even the liberal opositions are also lefty…

  • Fetewei Tarekegn but do you also see the systoms wíth which ethiopian society had live for thousands of years.. a systom where a few work for the benefits of the many and that if we were ‘to go for our own’ and ‘ everybody for himself’ with hardwork and dedication some running the systom would have a backclash againest such a thing?? i am a fun of everyone for themselves but i think the marxist leninst ideology is rather the cusion for our own societal dogmas rather than it being the norm.. but i think we are getting out óf it the in a slow manner!!!

  • Giday Geberkidan you are right but there is also trouble when one individual or group starts to dictate and take responsibility it could as well be abused. so the only way out seems, no body should transgress no bodies way, that way it is safer. and with good culture and social values like ours we are safe. but as it is today no body is admitting no bodies freedom. instead they are all fighting that they are the right one and the other is a mortal enemy, we are in a very bad shape. only intellectual awakening can save us. and instead of getting out we are getting deeper and deeper in darkness, as no one tolerates no one…

  • Fetewei Tarekegn well i attribute that from the insidence that people have become aware of their right to say whatever they want.. but it is also my believe that the populous will not adhere to whoever has the most leftist or rightis attitudes towards life, liberty and the persuit of whatever it is that comes next!!!

about an hour ago · Unlike · 1
  • Giday Geberkidan that is right people will adhere only what is comfortable to them, what will give them personal gain and satisfaction and that is the big problem. i think we need a certain line a certain principle that can not be trespassed by any one so that basic rights could be guaranteed and true peace will reign. other wise a life with out those basic values will result in anarchy…. and that is what we have…

  • Fetewei Tarekegn i would have to say then the law is what should be binding and unconditional adherance to the law be the solution??

about an hour ago · Unlike · 1
  • Giday Geberkidan i agree 100% with this one. but the law (constitutional) should be the kind of law that puts restriction on the powers of the govt like the USA and not the kind that distributes rights and privileges to people like the socialists – UN, and the rest of the world, as if we they were gods distributing values…

  • Fetewei Tarekegn well the constitution of the united states also gives some unlimited powers under the disguise of national security!!! for instance ( and i read from an excript of a book from Gore vidal) the presidents of the united states have declared or waged wars without going to congress and asking it to declare a state of war… and that is since… the second world war!!! and now.. personal space privilage and privacy are not there due to the patriot act!!I am just saying that it is not easy implemnating the constitution without a vigilant populous looking out for its rights

  • Giday Geberkidan of course the original American constitution has been corrupted with many amendments and today basically there are many laws and declarations that are unconstitutional and in complete opposite of the founding fathers intention, the federal reserve is one of those examples and the patriot act is in your face police state type of law but what can we do that is one of the manifestations of the new world order… ya America too is falling… but i’m glad we agree at least in theory.

  • Fetewei Tarekegn Here is what Ben franklin said once .. (According to Gore Vidal again)he was walking the streets of the philadelpihia when they were framing the constitution .. a lady asked him what he is giving them … he said ‘ A constitution if you can have it!!!’… she asked him why the pessimism and he said ‘because every good constitution has been useless because of the ‘corruption of the people!!” That is what i mean by vigilant people defending their rights!!!

  • Giday Geberkidan definitely but vigilant citizens are hard to find as organized few are always more shrewd and powerful, they can destroy them before they are created. so the solution lays in creating vigilant citizens. but this is again hard to do as the masses are short sighted and selfish, they are easily fooled by the shrewd few who want to manipulate them.
